Columbus Day

Christopher Columbus was and Italian Cristoforo  Colombo . Christopher was  born in between 31 of October 1450 and 30 October 1451 died 20 may 1506 . He was also a Genoese explorer . navigator, and colonizer ,born in the Republic of Genoa which in today its part of Italy .   Even though he  was under the auspices of Catholic Monarchs of Spain  , he had completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean . The voyages and establish permanent settlements on the island of Hispaniola , initialed the Spanish colonization of the New World .  Columbus proposal was to reach the East Indies by sailing westward , eventually received the support of the Spanish Crown , which saw in it the chance to enter the spice trade with Asia through a new westward route.  Columbus first voyage was in the year of 1492  instead of reaching Japan as he had intended , Columbus landed in a new World , landing in the Bahamas archipelago , on an island he had named San Salvador .

                                                               

Refection :   What I think Christopher Columbus was most interested was traveling around the world to trade , specially the spice trade that’s when everything started . He was about 56 – 57 years old when he past away . Columbus was many things for example he was and explorer , navigator , and colonizer . He was born in Italy , in the Republic of Genoa .
